Audio BM

The international symposium about new technology for the treatment of hearing loss in children "BAHA Implantation", organized by the Serbian Association of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology and company Audio BM, with a support of Australian company Cochlear, was held on June 17th, 2011 in Amphitheatre of the Institute of Mother and Child Health of Serbia "Dr Vukan Cupic". It was the first Serbian Association of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology Symposium.

After symposium opening and welcome speech given by Dr Vladan Subarevic, head of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology Service of the Institute of Mother and Chlid Health of Serbia "Dr Vukan Cupic" and president of the Serbian Association of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, next speakers were Prim.Dr Sci. Dragutin Trickovic, general manager of the Institute of Mother and Chlid Health of Serbia "Dr Vukan Cupic", Prof.Dr Vojko Djukic, president of the Serbian Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Prof.Dr Dragan Dankuc, president of the Cochlear Implant Commission.

Thereupon representatives of Cochlear company, manufacturer of BAHA implant, Antonio Sportelli and Riccardo Licari gave their presentations - Cochlear - Connecting People and Cochlear Baha 3 System.

During the symposium two surgeries of Baha implant for direct bone conduction were performed and these are the first surgeries of that kind in Serbia - these surgeries (implantations) were done by Prof.dr Janez Rebol and Dr Ivan Baljosevic.

After the first surgery Prof.Dr Janez Rebol gave lectures about Baha indications in Europe and Baha surgical techniques and after the second implantation was done Dr Ivan Baljosevic and Dr Ljiljana Cvorovic gave lectures about Indications for Baha implantation in children and adults.
